LAHORE: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Dr Farooq Sattar Sunday said that division of party into two factions was unfortunate.
Talking to the media at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Sattar hinted at working out a formula to end the ongoing friction within the party’s Bahadurabad group and PIB faction.
Referring to the upcoming general elections, he said that said the party would participate in elections in Punjab, adding that they would look for party workers who could be given tickets to contest polls.
When asked about the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) of Mustafa Kamal as one another “representative” of the Urdu-speaking community of Karachi and Hyderabad, he said: “Jumping ships would not make difference now as the voter has become clever enough to clearly understand switching of loyalties.” He said that despite differences and grouping within the party the voters of MQM were still united.
